Documents
Description
Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (abbreviated as GAPDH) is an enzyme of ~37kDa that catalyzes the sixth step of glycolysis and thus serves to break down glucose for energy and carbon molecules. In addition to this long established metabolic function, GAPDH has recently been implicated in several non-metabolic processes, including transcription activation, initiation of apoptosis, and ER to Golgi vesicle shuttling.
Ig Subclass
Mouse Monoclonal (IgG1)
Storage
The product will remain stable for one year after the date of shipment if stored at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Aliquot will remain stable for three months if stored at 4°C.
Specificity
Mouse Anti GAPDH is known to react with GAPDH form humans, cows, pigs, mice, rats and other mammals. It also recognizes avian GAPDH.
Formulation
1 mg/ml in PBS, pH 7.4 with 0.05% sodium azide, frozen liquid.
Immunogen
Purified pig GAPDH
Clone ID
A00084.01
Purification Method
Immunoaffinity purification
Applications
Western blot at dilutions of 1:1,000 and immunofluorescence experiments at 1:100 dilutions respectively. It is very useful as a loading control for quantitative Western blotting.
Conjugation
Unconjugated
