TRF1 is a telomere-specific protein that contains a C-terminal Myb motif. It has a dimerization domain near its acidic N-terminus. It binds to the telomeric double-stranded TTAGGG repeat and negatively regulates telomere length. TRF1 is also involved in mitotic spindle regulation.
