Enolase is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of 2-phosphoglycerate to phosphoenolpyruvate. Mammalian enolase has three subunits (alpha, beta and gamma) that can form homo and heterodimers. Homodimers of gamma enolase are neuronal-specific. NSE (neuron specific enolase) is expressed primarily in neurons. It is also found in elevated levels in plasma in certain neoplasias including pediatric neuroblastoma and small cell lung cancer. NSE is widely used as a diagnostic marker in a variety of clinical assays.GenScript Rabbit Anti-NSE Polyclonal Antibody is developed in rabbit using a KLH-coupled synthetic peptide from N-terminal of human NSE (Swiss Prot: P09104).
