1. What is the CloneArchTM Clone Storage and Management Center?
CloneArchTM is a new service from GenScript, providing worry-free clone storage and management. As the world's leading provider of molecular biology services, GenScript has synthesized, engineered, and stored hundreds of thousands of our customer's clones for years. We have recently centralized and assembled the innovations of the past decade into the CloneArchTM Clone Storage and Management Center. We are entirely devoted to giving our customers the best possible user experience and service pipeline for our customers.

2. Why use CloneArchTM instead of traditional methods of preservation?
We have found it extraordinarily useful to apply digital technology to the fields of clone management in particular and life science laboratory service in general. With CloneArchTM precision, you can better organize and locate your gene clones, even those generated by long-gone labmates. You will no longer need to manage your clones yourself with cumbersome and unreliable racks, tubes, and fading ink. CloneArchTM's comprehensive record-keeping and easy online 24/7 tracking provides you with all your cloning information, all the time. This prevents unnecessary clone loss and preserves precious time that can be reinvested in more active and productive biological research and drug development projects.

3. What does the CloneArchTM service package include?
The CloneArchTM Storage and Management Center can store both your empty vectors and constructs with inserts for free or a minimal charge and provide a variety of useful molecular biology analysis and note tools. In addition, genes clones submitted to CloneArchTM are conveniently eligible for GenScript's various downstream technical services. Further manipulations of the gene clones are just one click away.

4. What GenScript downstream services are available through CloneArchTM? Shall I send another copy of the clone for the service or can I use the clones stored in the system?
All of GenScript's molecular biology services, such as subcloning, mutagenesis, plasmid preparation, and protein production services are just one click away. Gene clones deposited in CloneArchTM are instantly ready for further manipulation upon receiving your project design without additional shipping and material transfer processes.

5. How does CloneArchTM maintain the security and confidentiality of the clones in its keeping?
We store your clones in two separate geographic locations. CloneArchTM is compliant to GLP standard protocols on both sites. These include security measures, such as bar code tracking, fire safety control, an anti-theft security system, backups, onsite power supplies for non-interrupted power, and complete logging history for clone access. All of these precautions are there to give you a peace of mind. In addition, GenScript promises not to disclose any information or to share any materials deposited by you with any third parties unless directly authorized to do so by you or your legal representatives.

6. How are the materials transferred?
New customers must first ship their clones to GenScript. Upon arrival, sequence validation is carried out by GenScript and then the clones are sealed for long-term storage. Existing customers who have used GenScript’s gene synthesis services within the past years can simply send a long-term storage request if back-up copies have been notified for stock before. The first year of CloneArchTM storage is FREE.

7. What kind of validation is needed for gene clones submitted to CloneArchTM? Are there any fees for this?
The required validation includes sequencing of the insert, plus RE analysis of the construct. A compulsory one-time clone validation fee is charged.

8. How long can I keep my clones organized with CloneArchTM?
You can keep your gene clones in CloneArchTM indefinitely. At the time of submission, you can easily specify the number of years you wish each clone to be stored using CloneArchTM (one to ten years). This specification can be changed or terminated at any time through your GenScript representative. In case of discontinuation, GenScript agrees to keep the information and materials deposited by you for 3 months free of charge to give you sufficient time to make arrangements for the information and materials retrieval. After this period the information and materials will be destroyed.

9. How much does it cost to use CloneArchTM?
We are pleased to provide this service free of charge for the first year of storage and management. Customers can acquire long-term (as long as ten years) storage and management services. Get a quote for details.

10. Do I have to pay for shipping?
Yes. Customers are responsible for the shipping cost involved in new clone deposit.

11. What kinds of payment do you accept?
GenScript accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express), checks and wire transfers. You may also send us a PO. For certain orders, GenScript may require a deposit.

12. How can I place my order?
After logging in to your GenScript customer account, you will see our promotion ads or CloneArchTM introduction page. Follow the instructions on that page and most of the customers will find an easy way to create a new account for CloneArchTM, then our system is ready for you to deposit and manage your clones and vectors easily. Once you have done the online order placement, you'll need to send us a copy of your clone/vector for validation and further service.
