| Product Name |
CHO-K1/MCH2 Stable Cell Line |
Full Name |
Human Recombinant Melanin-concentrating Hormone Receptor 2 Stable Cell Line |
|
Species |
Human |
Description |
Coupled exclusively Gq, MCH2 is a receptor for melanin-concentrating hormone. Other than regulating skin color, two subtypes (MCHR1 and MCHR2) are involved in energy homeostasis and social behaviors. In contrast to MCHR1 that is conserved among all mammals, functional MCHR2 is only expressed in carnivores and primates, but not in rodents. |

Application Examples |
Figure 1. MCH-induced concentration-dependent stimulation of intracellular calcium mobilization in CHO-K1/MCH2 and CHO-K1 cells. The cells were loaded with Calcium-4 prior to stimulation with a MCH2 receptor agonist, MCH. The intracellular calcium change was measured by FlexStation. The relative fluorescent units (RFU) were plotted against the log of the cumulative doses (8-fold dilution) of MCH (Mean ± SD, n = 2). The EC50 of MCH on MCH2 in CHO-K1 cells was 18 nM. The S/B of MCH on MCH2 in CHO-K1 cells was 16. |
