Monoclonal Antibody Production Service
Monoclonal antibodies are extremely useful in both the specific detection and purification of a variety of substances and in
targeted drug discovery. In 2006, the market for monoclonal antibodies was over 20 billion US dollars.
It is estimated that the advances in biopharmaceutical technology and increases in demand will bring this figure over
30 billion USD by 2010.
While high-affinity monoclonal antibodies make an irreplaceable contribution to many different kinds of research,
large-quantity production of these antibodies can be a roadblock. GenScript's tailored facilities and experienced staff offer
specialized monoclonal antibody production, purification, and modification services, sidestepping the slowing effects
of monoclonal antibody product in the pharmaceutical process. GenScript offer both ascites in vivo production service and roller
bottle in vitro production service.
GenScript also offers test run services for large-scale production.
Key Features:
- Guaranteed Delivery:
We guarantee two ELISA-positive clones with any antigen for a complete hybridoma development project.
- Even Handling Problematic Cell Lines:
GenScript can produce ascites from solid-tumor-producing cell lines.
- Unlimited Production: GenScript can produce and purify antibodies from any cell line from any species.
- GMP Compliance: Both our antibody production procedures and animal facilities are in compliance with GMP standards.
- Scalability: Our monoclonal antibody production capability ranges from milligram to gram quantities.
- Competitive Prices: Our guaranteed monoclonal antibody service costs as little as many other companies' polyclonal services.
- Strict Confidentiality: The customer wholly owns the information, cell lines, and antibodies generated from his/her project.
If necessary, GenScript will sign non-disclosure documents acknowledging this.

Service Specifications:
GenScript produces monoclonal antibodies using both ascites and roller bottle culture methods.
The antibodies can be purified by protein A, protein G, and protein L affinity column, or other preferred methods
according to the client's preference. Upon request, the antibodies can be modified enzymatically to produce F(ab')2
or Fab fragments, or conjugated with Biotin, enzymes, or fluorescent dyes.
1. Ascites Production
GenScript ascites production is performed in Balb/c or nude mice. Our typical deliverables include 2-5 ml
ascites per mouse at antibody concentration of 1-10 mg/ml depending on the productivity of individual cell line.
Our typical turnaround time is 4-6 weeks.
GenScript also offers mycoplasma testing, mycoplasma removal, and clonality services for premium ascite production.
Please read the detailed procedures and timelines
of ascites production service.
2. Roller bottle cell culture
Roller bottle cell culture allows for high-quality, reproducible antibody production without the use of animals.
Typically, either low-bovine-IgG fetal bovine sera or serum-free media are used in roller bottle cell culture to
control the possible bovine IgG contamination. Typically, monoclonal antibodies produced in roller bottles are
purified before shipment. Our typical deliverables include 20-100 mg/L monoclonal antibodies depending on the
productivity of individual cell line. Our typical turnaround time is 5-7 weeks. GenScript's roller bottle culture is
in cGMP compliance. We offer mycoplasma testing, mycoplasma removal, and clonality services for optimized production.
Please read the detailed procedures and timelines of roller bottle cell culture service.
3. Antibody Purification
GenScript offers comprehensive antibody purification services, including protein A, protein G, and protein L
affinity column, immuno-affinity column, salt precipitation, and ion-exchange purification. Our scientists
can design and select the most suitable strategy and conditions tailored to each purification project.
The reactivity and purity of the purified antibodies is tested by ELISA /western blot and SDS-PAGE, respectively.
Our typical deliverables include ELISA and/or western blot results, SDS-PAGE image, and documentation of the endotoxin
level. Our typical turnaround time is 1-2 weeks.
