The following GALR1 gene sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the GALR1 gene which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want? ||REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from AC100863.2 and U23854.1.
This sequence is a reference standard in the RefSeqGene project.
On Feb 6, 2008 this sequence version replaced gi:6031165.
Summary: The neuropeptide galanin elicits a range of biological
effects by interaction with specific G-protein-coupled receptors.
Galanin receptors are seven-transmembrane proteins shown to
activate a variety of intracellular second-messenger pathways.
GALR1 inhibits adenylyl cyclase via a G protein of the Gi/Go
family. GALR1 is widely expressed in the brain and spinal cord, as
well as in peripheral sites such as the small intestine and heart.
