The following OXCT1 gene sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the OXCT1 gene which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want? Summary: This gene encodes a member of the 3-oxoacid
CoA-transferase gene family. The encoded protein is a homodimeric
mitochondrial matrix enzyme that plays a central role in
extrahepatic ketone body catabolism by catalyzing the reversible
transfer of coenzyme A from succinyl-CoA to acetoacetate. Mutations
in this gene are associated with succinyl CoA:3-oxoacid CoA
transferase deficiency. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].
