The following UCHL1 gene sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the UCHL1 gene which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want? ||REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from BP202166.1 and BC000332.2.
This sequence is a reference standard in the RefSeqGene project.

Summary: The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the peptidase
C12 family. This enzyme is a thiol protease that hydrolyzes a
peptide bond at the C-terminal glycine of ubiquitin. This gene is
specifically expressed in the neurons and in cells of the diffuse
neuroendocrine system. Mutations in this gene may be associated
with Parkinson disease.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009].
