The following GDF3 gene sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the GDF3 gene which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want? ||REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from AF263538.1.
This sequence is a reference standard in the RefSeqGene project.
Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the bone
morphogenetic protein (BMP) family and the TGF-beta superfamily.
This group of proteins is characterized by a polybasic proteolytic
processing site which is cleaved to produce a mature protein
containing seven conserved cysteine residues. The members of this
family are regulators of cell growth and differentiation in both
embryonic and adult tissues. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].
