Description |
The two major cytoskeletal proteins implicated in cell motility are actin and myosin. Actin and myosin are involved in a myriad of cellular processes including locomotion, secretion, cytoplasmic streaming, phagocytosis, and cytokinesis. GenScript Rabbit Anti-Alpha-Actin-1 Polyclonal Antibody is developed in rabbit hosts using a synthetic peptide conjugated to KLH. |
Ig Subclass |
Rabbit IgG |
Storage |
GenScript Rabbit Anti-Alpha-Actin-1 Polyclonal Antibody is stable for 2-3 weeks at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles. |
Specificity |
GenScript Rabbit Anti-Alpha-Actin-1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with human, mouse, rat, cow, pig, rabbit, and some fish species. It has not yet been tested with other species. |
Concentration |
0.5 mg/ml in PBS, pH 7.4, containing 0.02% sodium azide |
Immunogen |
Synthetic peptide GQVITIGNERFR conjugated to KLH |
Purification Method |
Immunoaffinity chromatography |
Applications |
Working concentrations for specific applications should be determined by the investigator. The appropriate concentrations may be affected by secondary antibody affinity, antigen concentration, the sensitivity of the method of detection, temperature, the length of the incubations, and other factors. The suitability of this antibody for applications other than those listed below has not been determined. The following concentration ranges are recommended starting points for this product. Western blot: 0.1-1.0 µg/ml Western Blot Using the ONE-HOUR WesternTM Kit: For quick results, the GenScript ONE-HOUR WesternTM kit (L00204C) is recommended. Mix 10 µg of GenScript Rabbit Anti-α-Actin-1 with 10 ml of WB solution for an 8 cm x 8 cm membrane. Other applications: user-optimized |
Conjugation |
Unconjugated |
Host Species |
Rabbit |
Note |
Briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container's cap because small volumes of antibody will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. |
