Minimum 10-fold Increase in Protein Expression Level in E. coli—Patent-pending OptimumGene^TM Gene Design Technology

GenScript's proprietary OptimumGene^TM codon optimization and gene design technologies can significantly improve the expression level of target proteins. Our advanced optimization takes the entire mRNA structure into consideration as opposed to traditional optimization methodologies which only consider the codon usage frequency and the structure of mRNA partially. The patent-pending OptimumGene^TM Gene Design Technology can typically increase at least 10-fold of protein expression level in E. coli, provided that the protein expression and purification methods are appropriate.

Figures below manifested the effectiveness of the OptimumGene^TM technology in increasing protein expression levels for two different genes expressed in E. coli.


Fig. A. GenScript's OptimumGene^TM codon optimization delivered 10 times higher expression level for protein α compared to non-optimized native gene sequence. The expression level was 3 times more than that from Competitor GA's optimization method.

Fig. B. GenScript's OptimumGene^TM codon optimization delivered 20 times higher expression level for protein β compared to non-optimized native gene sequence. The expression level was 13 times more than that from Competitor GA's optimization method.
