| Description |
Urocortin (UCN) is a 40 amino acid peptide that is closely related to corticotropin-releasing hormone. It binds with high affinity to both CRH type 1 and type 2 receptors, and it is expressed in human reproductive tissues including those of the endometrium, ovary, and placenta. UCN stimulates cAMP accumulation from cells transfected with these receptors and acts in vitro to release ACTH from rat anterior pituitary cells. |
