Serum Thymic Factor
*This product has been discontinued!*
Serum thymic factor (FTS) is found partly bound to a carrier protein in the circulation from which it has been isolated. FTS is produced by the thymic epithelium and its mode of action at the cellular level involves the binding to specific high-affinity receptors. As a thymic peptide hormone, FTS has been reported to attenuate the bleomycin-induced pulmonary injury and also experimental pancreatitis and diabetes.
