The structurally similar neuropeptides adipokinetic hormone II is derived from similar, very small mRNAs. The grasshopper neuropeptides adipokinetic hormone (AKH) II was among the first of an extensive family of structurally similar arthropod hormones and neuroregulators to be isolated and sequenced. |
