Description:

GenScript's Cell Cycle Analysis Kit (Cat.No.L00287) provides a rapid and convenient assay for the cell cycle and cell proliferation. In normal cells, DNA density changes depending on whether the cell is growing, dividing, resting, or performing its ordinary functions. Observed stained DNA using flow cytometry can allow the researcher to determine whether the cell is in G0/G1, S, or G2/M, giving a clearer picture of how cells in different parts of the cell cycle are distributed throughout the sample and the level of proliferation activity. In apoptotic cells, DNA is degraded by endogenous nucleases and diffused out of cells. A highly definable sub-G1 peak occurs and is easily quantified by dyes. Cells can then be sorted and further analyzed by microscopy to verify the presence of apoptotic cells. The change in DNA of the apoptotic cells is then assayed by flow cytometry. In addition, after RNA is degraded by RNase, the nucleic acid dye in this kit binds with DNA in the nucleus. The results can be analyzed by flow cytometry.
