Description:
Staphylococcal Protein A binds strongly and specifically to the Fc region of immunoglobulin molecules, particularly IgG. The product contains five high-affinity binding sites capable of interacting with the Fc region of IgG in humans, rabbits, pigs, and other species. Biotin-Protein A, which is produced by covalently linking biotin to protein A, can be used in immunodetections, such as immunoblotting (western or dot blot), ELISA, and immunohistochemistry.Concentration:
2 mg/ml in PBS (pH 7.4) containing 10 mg/ml BSA and 0.02% sodium azide.Storage:
Store at 4°C for short periods of time, one month or shorter. Aliquot and store at -20°C for longer periods. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Prolonged storage may result in slight precipitation, so clarify the solution by centrifugation before use.Application:
Working concentrations for specific applications should be determined by titration assay. The chart below may serve as a useful guideline, but primary antibody, temperature, incubation time, the amount of antigen, and the sensitivity of the detection methods can all affect the ideal working concentration.Dot blot: 1:5,000-1:50,000
Western blot: 1:5,000-1:50,000
ELISA: 1:50,000-1:500,000
Other: user-optimized.
