| Abbreviated Name-2 | HCG-β core |

| Description | Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a peptide hormone produced in pregnancy, that is made by the embryo soon after conception and later by the syncytiotrophoblast (part of the placenta). Its role is to prevent the disintegration of the corpus luteum of the ovary and thereby maintain progesterone production that is critical for a pregnancy in humans. hCG may have additional functions, for instance it is thought that it affects the immune tolerance of the pregnancy. Early pregnancy testing generally is based on the detection or measurement of hCG. |
|---|
| Ig Subclass | mouse IgG2b |
|---|
| Storage | Lyophilized: store at 4°C. After reconstitution or ifpurchased in liquid form (PBS), if not used within a month, aliquot and store at -20°C. |
|---|
| Stability | Two years lyophilized, one month in solution at 4°C |
|---|
| Specificity | The antibody is specific for the β subunit of HCG. Typical cross-reactivities observed with LH, FSH, and TSH are less than 0.3% in RIA. |
|---|
| Concentration | 1 mg/ml in PBS (after reconstitution) |
|---|
| Clone | A00015.01 |
|---|
| Immunogen | Purified hCG beta core |
|---|
| Purification Method | Ion exchange column |
|---|
| Reconstitution | Reconstitute with H2O. Mix gently, wash the sides of the vial and wait 30-60 seconds before use. |
|---|
| Titer | By direct ELISA, 1:10,000 dilution will yield 0.5 O.D using alkaline phosphatase conjugated rabbit anti-mouse Ig (Jackson Laboratories). |
|---|
| Applications | ELISA |
|---|
| Conjugation | Unconjugated |
|---|
| Host Species | Mouse |
|---|
| Antigen Species | Human |

| Note | Briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container's cap because small volumes of antibody will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. |
