| Full Name | |
| Alias | Interleukin-2 |
|---|
| Abbreviated Name-2 | mAHuIL 2 |
|---|
| Description | IL2 is a secreted cytokine that is important for the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes. The receptor of this cytokine is a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is also shared by interleukin 4 (IL4) and interleukin 7 (IL7). The expression of this gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, which represents an unusual regulatory mode for controlling the precise expression of a single gene. The targeted disruption of a similar gene in mice leads to ulcerative colitis-like disease, which suggests an essential role of this gene in the immune response to antigenic stimuli. |
|---|
| Ig Subclass | Mouse IgG2a |
|---|
| Storage | The antibody may be stored for long periods in lyophilized form at 4°C in a dry environment. After reconstitution, aliquot and store any antibody not intended for use within one month at -20°C. |
|---|
| Stability | The antibody will remain stable for two years if stored lyophilized as described above, for one month if stored in solution at 4°C. |
|---|
| Concentration | 1 mg/ml in PBS (after reconstitution) |
|---|
| Clone | A00038.01 |
|---|
| Immunogen | r.Human IL-2 |
|---|
| Purification Method | Ion exchange |
|---|
| Reconstitution | Reconstitute with sterile H2O. Mix gently, wash the sides of the vial and wait 30-60 seconds before use. |
|---|
| Titer | By direct ELISA: 1:10,000 dilution will yield 0.4 O.D using alkaline phosphatase conjugated rabbit anti-mouse Ig (Jackson Laboratories). 1:50 dilution will block 70-80% of CTLL proliferative response to 50 units of r.human IL-2. |
|---|
| Applications | ELISA Western blot Immuneprecipitation Immunohistochemistry Blocking T cell poroliferation. |
|---|
| Cross Reactivity | A certain degree of functional cross reactivity with murine IL-2 was reported by some investigators. |
|---|
| Conjugation | Unconjugated |
|---|
| Host Species | Mouse |
|---|
| Antigen Species | Human |
|---|
| Note | Briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container's cap because small volumes of antibody will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. |
