| Description | Myristoylated alanine-rich C kinase substrate (MARCKS) translocates from the cytosol to the plasma membrane while mononucleated myoblasts fuse to form multinucleated myotubes. Rabbit anti MARCKS is an affinity purified rabbit polyclonal and used for neuroscience and cancer research. MARCKS is a member of the calmodulin binding protein family, is localised to the plasma membrane, forming cross-links with actin filaments. Phosphorylation by protein kinase C at key serine residues results in inhibition of binding to actin, phosphatidyl serine and calmodulin.
MARCKS is thought to be involved in mitogenesis, phagocytosis and membrane trafficking. |
