| Full Name | | TAP-tag Antibody, pAb, Rabbit |
| | Alias | Rabbit Anti-TAP-tag pAb |
|---|
| Abbreviated Name-2 | Anti-TAP-tag pAb |

| Description | Well-characterized antibodies against short-sequence epitope tags are common in the study of protein expression in several different expression systems. The TAP (tandem affinity purification)-tag allows rapid purification of complexes from a relatively small number of cells even if the researcher does not have prior knowledge of the complexs composition, activity, or function. Combined with mass spectrometry, the TAP-tag strategy enables the identification of proteins interacting with a given target protein1.
GenScript Rabbit Anti-TAP-tag Polyclonal Antibody is generated against the common tag, which is composed of a 21-residue peptide, CSSGALDYDIPTTASENLYFQ, derived from the C-terminus of the TAP-tag construct after TEV cleavage. |
|---|
| Ig Subclass | Rabbit IgG |
|---|
| Storage | GenScript Rabbit Anti-TAP-tag Polyclonal Antibody should be stored lyophilized until use. It remains stable in lyophilized form for at least two years if stored at -20°C or below. The reconstituted antibody can be stored for two three weeks at 2-8°C or for up to 12 months at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles. |
|---|
| Specificity | Rabbit Anti-TAP-tag Polyclonal Antibody specifically reacts with fusion proteins containing TAP epitope tag. |
|---|
| Concentration | 0.5 mg/ml, lyophilized with PBS, pH 7.4, containing 0.02% sodium azide. |
|---|
| Immunogen | Peptide CSSGALDYDIPTTASENLYFQ conjugated to KLH |
|---|
| Purification Method | Immunoaffinity chromatography |
|---|
| Reconstitution | Reconstitute the lyophilized powder with 80 µl of deionized water (or equivalent) to antibody concentration of 0.5 mg/ml. |
|---|
| Applications | Working concentrations for specific applications should be determined by the investigator. The appropriate concentrations may be affected by secondary antibody affinity, antigen concentration, the sensitivity of the method of detection, temperature, the length of the incubations, and other factors. The suitability of this antibody for applications other than those listed below has not been determined. The following concentration ranges are recommended starting points for this product. ELISA: 0.05-0.2 µg/ml Western blot: 0.1-1.0 µg/ml Western blot using ONE-HOUR WesternTM Kit: For quick results, GenScript ONE-HOUR WesternTM Kit L00204C is recommended. 10 µg of this antibody is mixed with 10 ml of WB solution for 8 cm x 8 cm membrane. immunoprecipitation (IP):2-10 µg/mg of lysate Other applications: user-optimized |
|---|
| Conjugation | Unconjugated |
|---|
| Host Species | Rabbit |
|---|
| Note | Briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container's cap because small volumes of antibody will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. | | * For Non-Clinical Research Use Only *
