Description
Litorin is a peptide that mimics bombesin in its mitogenic effects and has a carboxy terminal octapeptide in common with bombesin. Litorin (bombesin family) inhibits thyrotropin secretion in rats. Litorin acts on the hypothalamus to inhibit thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) release, and that its effects are modified by amines of the central nervous system.
