DescriptionCalcitonin (rat) is an hypocalcemic hormone produced by the parafollicular C cells of the thyroid or by the ultimobranchial bodies of nonmammalian vertebrates. Calcitonin decreases blood calcium and phosphate due to inhibition of resorption by osteoblasts and osteocytes.
SolubilitySoluble in water. The contents of this vial have been accurately determined. Both the stopper and the vial have been siliconized. Do not attempt to weight out a smaller portion of the contents.
