| Description | Katacalcin is a newly discovered calcium-lowering hormone predicted from the nucleotide sequence of a cloned cDNA derived from human calcitonin mRNA. Katacalcin, which is a human calcitonin precursor peptide, also called C-procalcitonin, katacalcin or PDN-21, flanking calcitonin on the C-terminal side within the human calcitonin precursor, can significantly lower plasma calcium level. |
