DescriptionBrain natriuretic peptide (type B natriuretic peptide) was originally isolated from brain, but is mainly produced in myoendocrine cells of the heart ventricles from which it is released into the circulation. BNP is involved in blood pressure control and cardiovascular homeostasis.
