| Description | Sauvagine is a hypotensive, diuretic peptide related to CRF and urotensin 1. It was originally isolated from the skin of the frog Phyllomedusa sauvagei. Sauvagine presents a number of pharmacological actions on diuresis, the cardiovascular system, and the endocrine glands. Sauvagine also potently stimulates the release of ACTH and β-endorphin from the anterior pituitary. |
