Full Name
Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (M-CSF), human
Abbreviated Name-1Human recombinant M-CSF
Abbreviated Name-2Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor
DescriptionMacrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (M-CSF), human is produced by mesenchymal cells, such as fibroblasts, macrophages, and endothelial cells. The stimulating factor (M-CSF) stimulates the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells of the monocyte-macrophage series. M-CSF binds to a specific high-affinity receptor. M-CSF is a disulfide-linked homodimer.
SourceMesenchymal cells
M.W.monomer 18,200 Da (reducing conditions), homodimer 30,300 Da (non-reducing conditions)
Purity>97%, as determined by HPLC
Endotoxin Level< 1.0 Endotoxin Unit (EU) per 1 µg as determined by the LAL method
Specific ActivityThe ED50 < 5 ng/ml, determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine M-NSF-60 cells, has a specific activity of > 2×105 units/mg.
