Full Name
Proteinase K
Abbreviated Name-1Proteinase K
DescriptionProtease K is a subtilian-type protease isolated from the saprophytic fugus Tritirachim album. It is particularly suitable for short digestions. It possesses a very broad peptide cleavage activity, which remains stable over a wide range of temperatures and pH values, although its activity increases at higher temperature.
SourceTritirachim album
Specific Activity>30 mAU/mg. Unit Definition: One mAU is the amount of proteinase that can release folin-positive amino acids and peptides corresponding to 1 µmol tyrosine per minute. Recommended Reaction Buffer: 50 mM Tris-HCl (pH=7.5), 10 mM CaCl2. No RNase and DNase activity detected.
StorageStore at -20°C.
Applications
  • Genomic DNA purification
  • Removal enzymes in DNA and RNA preparation
  • Preparation of chromosomal DNA for pulsed-field gel electrophoresis
  • * For Non-Clinical Research Use Only *
