| Abbreviated Name-1 | RNase A |
| Description | RNase A is purified from bovine pancreas. RNase A hydrolyzes RNA at 3'-side of pyrimidine but not DNA, because the DNA lacks 2'-OH groups essential for the formation of cyclic intermediates. RNase can also hydrolyze RNA from protein samples. It is ideal for use in removing RNA from samples. Boiling of stock solutions to inactivate residual DNase is not necessary or recommended. |
| Source | Bovine pancreas |
| Cas | 9001-99-4 |
| Purity | The enzyme has a purity of more than 99.0% and no DNase activity was detected in the preparation. |
| Specific Activity | No DNase activity detected. Activity: >70 U/mg. One unit catalyzes the hydrolysis of RNA to yield a first-order velocity of 1.0 at 25°C, pH 5.0. RNase A is active in almost any buffer conditions. |
| Storage | Store at 4°C or -20°C. Keep tightly closed. |
| Applications | *RNase protection assays *Remove unspecifically bound RNA *Analysis of RNA sequences *Hydrolyze RNA contained in protein samples *Purification of DNA |
