vasopressin vasopressin (also called antidiuretic hormone, ADH) is a hormone produced and released in the posterior Pituitary gland which causes the kidneys to retain water, thus increasing the water content of the body. In high concentrations, it causes the constriction of blood vessels throughout the body and consequent elevation of blood pressure.
