Z DNA A left-handed form of DNA found under physiological conditions in short GC segments that are methylated. It may be important in regulating gene expression in eukaryotes. Z DNA differs from other type of DNAs (i.e., A, B, C, D, and E) by having 12 base pairs PER turn, -30.0˚ rotation PER turn, 3.8A˚ vertical rise PER base pair and 18.4A˚ helical diameter.
