omic research
Following the currency of 'genomics', additional words have been coined to denote the compilation of data bases as resources for future research and analysis; proteonomics for proteins, kinomics for protein kinases, CHOnomics for carbohydrates, transcriptomics, vaccinomics, clonomics, functional, structural and pharmacogenomics, etc. Together, these approaches are termed omic research.Weinstein, J.N.
