In addition to use as the metric notation of pico (10-9), it is commonly used to indicate the logarithm of a reciprocal, e.g. molecular_biology_glossary?id=2223&op=detail">pKa=log(1/Ka). In molecular_biology_glossary?id=2092&op=detail">nucleic molecular_biology_glossary?id=8306&op=detail">acid molecular_biology_glossary?id=9019&op=detail">chemistry it denotes an orthophosphate in a 5'- or 3'-phosphomonoester molecular_biology_glossary?id=8820&op=detail">bond (e.g. pA or Gp), a molecular_biology_glossary?id=2301&op=detail">phosphodiester molecular_biology_glossary?id=8820&op=detail">bond (e.g. CpG), or a phosphate anhydride molecular_biology_glossary?id=8820&op=detail">bond (e.g. ppA).
