dot blotting

A method to estimate the concentration of a polynucleotide or protein solution by spotting it on a sheet of nitrocellulose or nylon, hybridizing it with a radiolabelled complementary polynucleotide or antibody, visualizing it by autoradiography, then comparing its intensity with that of a similarly treated graded concentration series of the standard polynucleotide or protein.
