acceptor arm The end of a tRNA molecule to which an amino acid becomes bound. It contains both the 5' and 3' ends of the tRNA. The 3'-terminal sequence of cytidine-cytidine-adenosine (CCA) overhangs the end, and the terminal A is the site of 'acceptance' of the amino acid.
