Description |
GenScript Human T-Lymphocyte Virus (HTLV)-1 Envelope contains the C- terminus of gp46 and most of p21E of HTLV-I. This non-fusion, E. coli-derived protein starts from HIV-1 env. amino acid 165, and ends in amino acid 440. Human T-cell Leukaemia Virus Type I (HTLV-I) is a retrovirus that causes adult T-cell leukaemia (ATL). |
Source |
E. coli |
Purity |
Protein is >95% pure (as determined by HPLC-C4, and 10% PAGE). |
Storage |
Store at -20°C. Keep container tightly closed. |
Concentration |
1 mg/ml in 10 mM Na-PO4, pH 6.0, containing 0.1% SDS, and 1 mM DTT; final concentration: 1 mg per vial |
Stability |
The protein will remain stable for five years if stored frozen and for six months in solution if stored in solution at 4°C. |
Specificity |
This protein is immunoreactive with all sera of HTLV-I and HTLV-II infected individuals with antibody response to HTLV envelope. |
Applications |
Use this protein as an antigen in ELISA and western Blots. It makes an excellent reagent in the correct detection of HTLV infections. It shows minimal specificity problems. |
