Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1), human

*This product has been discontinued!*
GenScript Insulin-Like Growth Factor (IGF)-1, human is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. The insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) are polypeptides with high sequence similarity to insulin. IGFs are part of a complex system that cells use to communicate with their physiologic environment. Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) is mainly secreted by the liver as a result of stimulation by growth hormone (hGH). IGF1 is important for both the regulation of normal physiology, as well as a number of pathological states, including cancer. Recombinant Human IGF-1produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 70 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 7,655 Da. rHuIGF-1is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Purity Greater than 95.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Anion-exchange FPLC.
(c) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel.
Endotoxin Level Less than 0.3 ng/µg (IEU/µg) determined by LAL test.
Formulation The protein was lyophilized after extensive dialysis against acetic acid.
Reconstitution It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized rHuIGF-I in 100 mM Acetic acid not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
