GenScript Insulin-Like Growth Factor (IGF)-1, human is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. The insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) are polypeptides with high sequence similarity to insulin. IGFs are part of a complex system that cells use to communicate with their physiologic environment. Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) is mainly secreted by the liver as a result of stimulation by growth hormone (hGH). IGF1 is important for both the regulation of normal physiology, as well as a number of pathological states, including cancer. Recombinant Human IGF-1produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 70 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 7,655 Da. rHuIGF-1is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
