Neurofilament-M Antibody, pAb, Rabbit

*This product has been discontinued!*
Synonyms Rabbit Anti-Neurofilament-M pAb;
Description Neurofilament-M (also known as NFM), is one member of Neurofilaments, which are the major intermediate filaments found in neurons and consist of light (NFL), medium (NFM), and heavy (NFH) subunits. Being critical for radial axon growth, neurofilaments determine axon caliber while microtubules are involved in axon elongation. It can also be useful in studies of neurofilament accumulations in many neurological diseases, such as Lou Gehrig's disease or Alzheimer's disease.

GenScript Rabbit Anti-Neurofilament-M Polyclonal Antibody is developed in rabbit using a KLH-coupled synthetic peptide from within residues 320-370 of human Neurofilament-M (Swiss Prot: P07197).
Host Species Rabbit
Antigen Species Human
Conjugation Unconjugated
Immunogen KLH-coupled synthetic peptide from within residues 320-370 of human Neurofilament-M (Swiss Prot: P07197).
Purification Immunoaffinity chromatography

Subclass Rabbit IgG
Concentration 0.5 mg/ml, lyophilized with PBS, pH 7.4, containing 0.02% sodium azide
Reconstitution Reconstitute the lyophilized powder with deionized water (or equivalent) to an antibody concentration of 0.5 mg/ml.
Specificity GenScript Rabbit Anti-Neurofilament-M Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of mouse and rat Neurofilament-M protein. It is predicted to react with human neurofilament-M according to sequence homology.
Species Reactivity Mouse and rat. This product has not been tested with other species yet.
Storage The antibody is stable in lyophilized form if stored at -20°C or below. The reconstituted antibody can be stored for 2-3 weeks at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
Note Small volumes of antibody will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. Before use, briefly centrifuge the vial to dislodge any liquid in the container's cap.

Working concentrations for specific applications should be determined by the investigator. The appropriate concentrations may be affected by secondary antibody affinity, antigen concentration, the sensitivity of the method of detection, temperature, the length of the incubations, and other factors. The suitability of this antibody for applications other than those listed below has not been determined. The following concentration ranges are recommended starting points for this product.
ELISA: 0.05-0.2 µg/ml
Western blot: 0.5-1 µg/ml
Other Applications: user-optimized
