|Synonyms||CNTN 1 Antibody, pAb, Rabbit;|
|Description||Contactins mediate cell surface interactions during the development of the nervous system. Contactin 1 plays a role in the formation of paranodal axo-glial junctions in myelinated peripheral nerves and in the signalling between axons and myelinating glial cells. Contactin 1 also acts as an activating ligand for Notch1, leading to generation of oligodendrocytes. Its interaction with TNR induces neuronal repulsion and an inhibition of neural outgrowth. Contactin 1 shares the L2/HNK carbohydrate epitope with L1, N-CAM, MAG and other cell adhesion molecules from nervous tissue.
GenScript Contactin 1 Antibody, pAb, Rabbit is developed in rabbit using a KLH-coupled synthetic peptide within residues 680~730 of human Contactin 1 (Swiss Prot: Q12860).

|Species Reactivity||Mouse and rat. Reactivity to other species is not tested yet.|
|Storage||The antibody is stable in lyophilized form if stored at -20°C or below. The reconstituted antibody can be stored for 2-3 weeks at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.|
|Working concentrations for specific applications should be determined by the investigator. The appropriate concentrations may be affected by secondary antibody affinity, antigen concentration, the sensitivity of the method of detection, temperature, the length of the incubations, and other factors. The suitability of this antibody for applications other than those listed below has not been determined. The following concentration ranges are recommended starting points for this product.
Western blot: 1-2 µg/ml.
Other Applications: User optimized.
