Genomic DNA Sequencing
CRISPR gene edited mammalian cell lines play an important role for a variety of applications, from drug discovery, establishment of primary cell lines, to epigenetic studies. While CRISPR is considered to be one of the most efficient and accurate editing methods, off-targeting can still be an issue, and therefore verification of gene knock-in and knock-out is a critical component of CRISPR quality control. To make this process even easier, GenScript offers a genomic DNA sequencing service to ensure CRISPR specificity in modified single cell clones or pools.
Advantages of genomic DNA sequencing:
- Less expensive: while Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) may be the most comprehensive, it is expensive and unnecessary for verifying single cell clones or pools
- Less labor intensive: PCR and sanger sequencing require expertise and very labor intensive
- Shorter turnaround time compared to NGS
