The Mastoparan originally isolated from the wasp venom of Vespula lewisii, can stimulates release of prolactin from cultured rat anterior pituitary cells. Mastoparan stimulation of prolactin secretion was dose-dependent, time-dependent, reversible and required the presence of calcium. |
