The adrenoceptors ADRB3 is Gs-coupled GPCRs expressed in the adipose, gall bladder, small intestine, stomach, prostate, left atrium and bladder. The Trp64 -> Arg polymorphism is associated with earlier onset of non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and reduced metabolic rate.

Figure 1. Isoproterenol-induced concentration-dependent stimulation of intracellular cAMP in 293/ADRB3/CRE-Luc and 293/CRE-Luc cells. After stimulation with ADRB3 receptor agonist, isoproterenol, the cells are checked with Bright-GloTM Luciferase Assay System and the relative luminescence units (RLU) of luciferase were recorded on a FlexStation. The RLU were plotted against the log of the cumulative doses (10-fold dilution) of isoproterenol (Mean ± SD, n = 2). The EC50 of Isoproterenol on ADRB3 co-expressing with CRE-Luc in 293 cells was 21 nM. The S/B of isoproterenol on ADRB3 co-expressing with CRE-Luc in 293 cells was 90.
