Description
The formyl peptide receptors (FPR) are a class of G protein-coupled receptors involved in chemotaxis. FPR1 is a Gi-coupled GPCR. FPR1 is expressed in the vasculature, secretory epithelial cells, neurons and other tissues. FPR is involved in host defense against bacterial infection and in the clearance of damaged cells.
Freeze Medium
45% culture medium, 45% FBS, 10% DMSO
Culture Medium
Ham's F12, 10% FBS, 200 μg/ml Zeocin, 100 μg/ml Hygromycin B
Storage
Liquid nitrogen immediately upon delivery
Application
Functional assay for FPR1 receptor
Application Examples
Figure 1. W-peptide-induced concentration-dependent stimulation of intracellular calcium mobilization in CHO-K1/FPR1/Gα15 and CHO-K1/Gα15 cells. The cells were loaded with Calcium-4 prior to stimulation with an FPR1 receptor agonist, w-peptide. The intracellular calcium change was measured by FlexStation. The relative fluorescent units (RFU) were plotted against the log of the cumulative doses (10-fold dilution) of w-peptide (Mean ± SD, n = 2). The EC50 of w-peptide on FPR1 co-expressing with Gα15 in CHO-K1 cells was 2.0 nM. The S/B of w-peptide on FPR1 co-expressing with Gα15 in CHO-K1 cells was 19.
