Cardiac myosin binding protein-C (c-protein, MYBPC3, cMyBP-C, or cMyC) is a heart muscle-specific thick filament protein. It is degraded and generates N-terminal 40-kDa fragment (C0C1f) into the blood after Myocardial infarction (MI). Its concentration elevates in blood after MI. cMyBP-C can serve as a novel biomarker for cardiac injury.
