CD55, also known as decay-accelerating factor (DAF), is a single chain transmembrane glycoprotein. It is expressed on the surface of hematopoietic cells, including erythrocytes and many non-hematopoietic cells. CD55 participates in protecting tissue from the cytotoxic complement injury and has anti-inflammatory properties. |
