GeneRIFs: Gene References Into Functions What's a GeneRIF?
These results suggested that NMU can act directly on beta cells through NMUR1 in an autocrine or paracrine fashion to suppress insulin secretion. Collectively, our results highlight the crucial role of NMU in suppressing pancreatic insulin secretion, and may improve our understanding of glucose homeostasis.
Title: Neuromedin U suppresses glucose-stimulated insulin secretion in pancreatic ? cells.
These results suggest that NMU and NMS are involved in thermoregulation via the prostaglandin E2 and beta3 adrenergic receptors, but that endogenous NMS might play a more predominant role than NMU.
Title: Involvement of endogenous neuromedin U and neuromedin S in thermoregulation.
the anorectic effect of the lipidated NMU is partly mediated by a decrease in gastric emptying which is subject to tachyphylaxis after continuous dosing.
Title: Neuromedin U inhibits food intake partly by inhibiting gastric emptying.
Beta-adrenergic and cholinergic mechanisms are involved in the anxiolytic action of neuromedin-U.
Title: Anxiolytic action of neuromedin-U and neurotransmitters involved in mice.
Data show that neuromedin U (NMU)-deficient mice developed less severe arthritis than control mice.
Title: The neuropeptide neuromedin U promotes autoantibody-mediated arthritis.
The following Nmu gene cDNA ORF clone sequences were retrieved from the NCBI Reference Sequence Database (RefSeq). These sequences represent the protein coding region of the Nmu cDNA ORF which is encoded by the open reading frame (ORF) sequence. ORF sequences can be delivered in our standard vector, pcDNA3.1+/C-(K)DYK or the vector of your choice as an expression/transfection-ready ORF clone. Not the clone you want?
