Harvesting Growth and Development on an Excellent Platform

Tyler, who has been with GenScript for over two years, is confident about the company’s future development. At GenScript, he has flourished in a collaborative environment, gaining extensive knowledge in biotechnology and advancing his career through diverse learning opportunities.

“GenScript, as a reliable supplier of research products, enjoys a good reputation among researchers.” This was Tyler’s first impression of GenScript and the reason he joined GenScript. During his academic education, he used customized antibodies and plasmid constructs from GenScript while working in the lab, and his PI was very satisfied with the received products. This earned Tyler’s trust in GenScript. In the onboarding interview, Tyler felt the personality and encouragement of the interviewing group leader. All of this ultimately led him to join and grow together with GenScript.

In Tyler’s thoughts, GenScript has a sound learning atmosphere, especially the team in the Northeast Region of the United States. This team encourages employees to grow and further develop their careers. He greatly appreciates the peer learning mode in GenScript and believes it is very helpful for his career. GenScript has many talented and experienced seniors as coaches who guide freshmen in GenScript’s team and help them grow. This culture of mutual learning and guidance not only improves employees’ skills, but also lays a solid foundation for GenScript’s development.

Continuous Learning in Biotechnology

During working at GenScript, Tyler has developed a deeper understanding of biotechnology. Although he had a solid understanding of molecular biology when he joined GenScript, his knowledge was limited to a few applications that he had been exposed to. “GenScript offers an extremely diverse service portfolio, so every day I can learn more about the biotechnology industry and various technologies and applications that researchers use for innovative science.” Tyler said. GenScript also provides many training and education opportunities, enabling Tyler to continue learning and growth, and serve customers better.

Tyler has his own understanding of the “introspection” in GenScript’s core values. He holds a view that “introspection” means the ability to recognize his own strengths and weaknesses, and based on this, then strive for improvement. Tyler believes that each member in a team has his/her own unique skills and strengths, and strong teamwork requires drawing on the strengths of each member. In addition, constant introspection enables continuous improvement. “We should recognize our own shortcomings and learn from others. Only in this way can we continuously improve, provide better support to customers, and bring more value to the company.” Tyler said.

Embracing Challenges and Upholding “Customer First” Values

Tyler said that when he joined GenScript, he and his colleagues faced significant challenges due to shortage of hands and the impact of COVID-19. Even so, GenScript has many outstanding leaders and managers who constantly support our team in various possible ways. And the culture of “win-win cooperation” also assists them greatly. “When a customer raises a question, it is crucial to collaborate as a team to identify customer’s needs and offer solutions that align with customer’s budget, expectations, and schedule. In many cases, this requires internal communication and collaboration among the sales team, marketing team, TAM team, and production team. A greater chance of success together will exist if every member of the team sees each order as an opportunity for collaboration and a common mission.” In Tyler’s opinion, he is fortunate to be part of a great team with perfect leadership and collaboration that will serve him and GenScript well in the long term.

“‘Customer First’, one of GenScript’s corporate values, means that the team should explore and know why their customers choose GenScript over other competitors. Generally this is not just because of good product quality of GenScript, but because they have received support from our team.” Tyler gave an example, “If a customer purchases plasmids from GenScript but faces problems in expression, our team will support and help him/her solve problems while keeping the spirit of ‘Customer First’ in mind from the customer’s perspective and need.” Meanwhile, to provide better service to customers, Tyler tries to empathize with customers as much as possible, putting himself in their shoes to find the best way to support them. “Our purpose is to promote customers’ research and goals. When they receive product/technology support and our empathy, they are more likely to maintain a good impression of GenScript and will recommend and repurchase our products. This is very beneficial for GenScript.”

Tyler, who has been with GenScript for over two years, is confident about the company’s future development. He said, “I hope to grow together with the company in the future. GenScript and its leadership have given me many development opportunities, and I will continue to work hard to learn and grow.”
