Description:GenScript's Cell Cycle Analysis Kit (Cat.No.L00287) provides a rapid and convenient assay for cell cycle and cell proliferation. For normal cells, the content of DNA changes with the process of cell cycle. Propidium iodide binds in proportion to the amount of DNA present in the cell, thus the amount of DNA in cells stained by propidium iodide can be used to calculate the percentage of G0/G1, S, and G2/M with flow cytometry. In this way, the distribution of cell cycle and the activity of proliferation can be determined. For apoptotic cells, DNA is degraded by activated endogenous nuclease and diffuses out of cells during the process of apoptosis. A highly definable sub-G1 peak occurs and can be easily quantified by dyes. The change of DNA in apoptotic cells is also assayed for sorting and further analyzing apoptotic cells. After RNA is degraded by RNase, the nucleic acid dye in this kit will bind with DNA and compose on chromatin in the nucleus. And the results can be analyzed by flow cytometry. |
