Smart Multi Color Pre-Stained Protein Standard

*This product has been discontinued!*

This product has been discontinued and has been replaced with Broad Multi Color Pre-Stained Protein Standard (M00624).

GenScript′s Smart Multi Color Pre-Stained Protein Standard is used to estimate the protein molecular weight of protein samples on SDS-PAGE gel and evaluate the western transfer efficiency. It consists of eight pre-stained proteins in the range of 14 to 120 kDa. The proteins of 50 kDa and 120 kDa are covalently coupled with orange dye to ensure proper identification of each protein. The protein of 14 kDa is covalently coupled with bright yellow dye for easy orientation. The proteins of 25 kDa, 30 kDa, 40 kDa, 70 kDa and 100 kDa are covalently coupled with blue dye for easy visualization. Smart Multi Color Pre-Stained Protein Standard is supplied in gel loading buffer and can be applied directly to a SDS-PAGE gel.

Overview
Volume 5 μl per lane is recommended to load on mini gel.

Properties
Concentration Each protein is present at the concentration of 0.4μg/μl in 100 mM Tris-HCl (pH 6.8), 5 mM EDTA, 10 mM DTT, 10% glycerol, 1% SDS, 0.01% phenol red.
Storage The standard can be stored at -20°C for 12 months. It is recommended to aliquot the standard into small volume.

Applications
  1. Monitoring protein migration during SDS-PAGE.
  2. Verifying transfer efficiency on membranes for Western Blot.
  3. Approximate sizing of proteins on SDS-PAGE gels.
  4. Locating a protein of interest for excision from an unstained preparative gel.
