Peptide libraries consist of a combination of different peptides for use in a number of biological applications. These combinations can include overlapping peptides, random sequences, truncated sequences, among others. While phage-display peptide libraries are limited to natural L-amino acids, synthetic peptide libraries are not limited to specific stereoisomers, and can include unnatural amino acids or peptides with additional secondary structure.
By analyzing hundreds of peptides in parallel, peptide libraries drastically decrease the time required for screenings.
